Leo's first short film, Cargo, shot in the Czech Republic and completed with the assistance of the New Zealand Film Commission, was a break out success and screened at many prestigious film festivals including Venice International Film Festival, Tribeca, London Film Festival, Paris, Prague and Melbourne International Film Festival. Most recently Leo was awarded the 2008 US Screenwriting Scholarship from Script to Screen, securing him an internship with Killer Films in New York City. Leo spent three months working as an intern in the script development department of Killer Films, a company at the forefront of independent American cinema.
