Polly Staniford is a Melbourne based producer, writer and director. Inspired and influenced by a diverse collection of films and their makers, she is a big fan of European and social realist cinema and filmmakers such as Francois Ozon, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Lynne Ramsey, Ken Loach and the Dardenne Brothers. Her favourite films include The Station Agent, Ratcatcher, The 400 Blows, Heat, The 25th Hour and Don’t Look Now and she also cites Woody Allen, Wes Anderson, Mike Leigh, David Lean, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Steven Spielberg as some of her favourite directors.  Polly has always loved kid’s adventure films from the 80's such as The Goonies, Labyrinth, Willow and Legend and recently completed her own kids feature film screenplay, Katie Diamond which she co-wrote with her father Mike.
